Kelli and Lorrin – A Wychmere Wedding

I think you’re going to like this wedding. This post is a little bit longer, but I think when you see the details and how beautifully everything turned out – you’ll understand why!  I first chatted with Kelli earlier in the year and was immediately fascinated to learn that she is a stylist who works for some of the country’s top publications and retail companies to stylize photo shoots, catalogs, etc.  As you can imagine, she’s used to working with photographers and has a very clear understanding of what elements make a great shot (no pressure, right?!).  She was also incredibly excited to have the chance to “stylize” her own wedding and she did a stunning job.  Her inspiration was based on sailor’s valentines (made mostly from found objects from the sea).  She created many of the details by hand and weaved them subtly throughout the different elements of the day.  The wedding took place on Cape Cod at the Wychmere Harbor Club.  I tried to pick a few of my favorite moments and details from the day, but I think you really need to see the slide show for the full effect!

I met Kelli at an adorable Cape house where all the girls got ready.  When I got there, she had all of her invitations ready for me.  She made all of these!

The kitchen set the scene for feel of the home:

Hair pins fashioned from small pink sea shells:

Love the look:

My good friend Doug Levy was helping me out for the day and spent some time with the guys.  Here Lorrin get’s the vote of confidence from his brother.

The flower girl and ring bearer with their respective tools of matrimony!

Mother nature provided me with my own wind machine for that perfect, wind blown look!

Doug grabbed the one on the left:

The guys practiced for the ceremony upstairs shortly before Kelli and Lorrin saw each other for the first time.  Thanks to Doug for the great shot.

Lorrin waited anxiously on the dock while Kelli made her grand entrance.  This is their first embrace:

Some quick practice for the first dance:

A few of my favorite portraits:

The ceremony was held inside but the light coming through the floor to ceiling windows made it feel like you were outside.

Immediately after the ceremony Lorrin and Kelli snuck away for a quick limo ride to the harbor.

We boarded a boat and set sail (well… ok, we actually motored) to make a spectacular entrance at the Wychmere Club for all the guests.

My favorite of the day:

Just a few of the beautiful details:

The room was given a bit of additional color by Boston Uplights:

The first dance:

Kelli’s dad giving a speech:

Just love the emotion here:

Perhaps my second favorite of the day – Kelli’s mom and sister listening to dad:

I thought this was a great one to finish with.

Without a doubt, you need to check out this slideshow:

Thank you so much Kelli and Lorrin – you had an amazingly wonderful and intimate wedding that I feel so honored to have been able to capture.  Also, thanks so much to Doug Levy for the help!
