It started as a joke.  I thought it would be funny to put Jake in our holiday cards as a goof – to laugh at myself.  I’ve always been a huge fan of William Wegman, and since I have a Vizsla (a cousin of the Weirmaraner) I figured I could get away with dressing my poor dog up.  As the years have gone on, the pictures have gotten better (I think this year takes the cake).  BUT – I can’t reveal this year until after the cards are sent!  With a new family member on the way – this could be Jake’s swan song – so I figured I’d post a review of some of the years past!  I’m missing a couple, and honestly, I can’t even remember what they were – but enjoy!  And I know…. he’s a good dog.

The holidays always seem to bring new and exciting changes.  However, in my 31 years on earth, this year takes the cake.  With our new arrival due in only a few short weeks, it kind of puts everything in perspective.  Last night, as Amanda began her favorite annual ritual of wrapping presents, with a bit less mobility than usual, it was difficult to ignore the reality that is about to hit us!  Jake seemed to sense the change as well.

I think he’s going to make a good brother!

I know I’m not being a trend-setter by creating a blog, but it’s high time that I get a blog posted!  Check back here now and then to get updates on my recent projects, weddings, portraits, etc.  I’ll try to use this blog to keep everyone up to date on my comings goings – and maybe even post some pictures of the baby due in only three weeks!!!

I have been trying to wrap up the season over the last couple of weeks, and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my excellent couples this year.  I can say without a doubt that is was one of the most excellent seasons to date – with some very fun weddings!  Stay tuned for a 2008 recap of some of my favorite images from this past season.

In other exciting news….. I finally have a new website!!  My old site, “Old Trusty,” wasn’t cutting the mustard any longer.  I decided to partner with an excellent company, Livebooks, who came up with the super-sleek and clean new look.  Thanks also to my friend and fellow photog, Eric McCallister, who helped me brand the site with the great logos and fonts.  Thanks to everyone involved.  Hopefully the changes will continue.  Keep checking in to see this blog transform into a piece of art!
